About Evancliffe Leathercraft

Whilst Clive won the "KingOf" Leatherwork award, Evancliffe Leathercraft offers unique hand crafted leather goods by both Clive & Wendy Elsdon.

Clive & Wendy are experienced Green Woodworkers, offering products and courses in that discipline. Wendy also produces willow products and offers courses in willow weaving. Our Green Woodworking & Willow products / courses are offered under the “Woodland Wendy” banner.

Clive & Wendy first developed an interest in leatherwork as an offshoot of Green Woodworking. The first leatherwork they undertook was the design and manufacture of leather tool guards and cases for many varied green woodworking tools, such as draw knives, spoke shaves, froes, carving knives etc. This lead to an interest in leatherwork in general and then enrollment on the first QCF Level 2 Creative Craft Leathercraft course at Northumberland College’s Hexham Centre.

Both Clive & Wendy passed the course and after gaining further experience now offer a range of unique hand crafted items and introduction to leathercraft courses.

As well as Green Woodworking and Leatherwork Clive and Wendy have both trained in the Heritage Craft of Dry Stone Walling.  Wendy is qualified to Level 1 and Clive to Level 2.

Wendy is a Qualified Teacher and Level 3 Forest School Leader specialising in Early Years Education.  She can regularly be found working as a Supply Teacher or Forest School Leader inschools around County Durham.

Clive trained as an Architectural Technician, is experienced in AutoCAD and offers an Architectural Design Service through “Clive Elsdon Building Design” and a consultation service under the banner of “Evancliffe Ltd.”
