During the first lockdown of 2020, we were trying to find new walks and get out as much as possible; looking through blogs, searching on Google and asking for recommendations on Facebook. We then went up to visit family in Sheffield and wanted to find toddler friendly walks in the Peak District and, again, we had to search through tonnes of information before getting to the details that we actually needed. So, we decided to do something about it!
Steve has worked in the web development industry for fifteen years and Becky has been a Primary School teacher for twelve years, and have two children together (George age 4 and Chloe age 2) so it is something that we are both passionate about and something that we can work on as a family. The children have loved trying out all the different parks in Aylesbury and beyond!
Steve started building the website in September 2020, with our lovely friend Rhys helping us with our server. By the beginning of November we had 1000 venues on the site and officially launched on Steve’s birthday, 3rd November.
Since then, we have been thinking of ways to make the website grow and to help more people during this awful year. Covid-19 has affected so many businesses, we wanted to try and help anyway we can. A few of our friends had started their own small businesses too and, with Christmas approaching, we created a marketplace where businesses could advertise for a very reasonable price and with free trials to get them started. We are also starting to reach out to clubs and classes around the country, to advertise with us. We also have other ideas in the pipeline - so watch this space!
Our aim is to create a wonderful community of people, working together to create a one stop shop for everything kids!
