Hi, I'm Lou...
Manderley Vintage is my kitchen table business. Many happy hours are literally spent at my kitchen table stencilling.
Manderley brings me balance from a very giving role working for the NHS on a Neonatal Unit, where I support families, and work with Mothers helping them to feed their babies. When I'm not cuddling babies for a living I'm at home with my family, and painting. Home is Mullion in Cornwall. Where I grew up, left at the age of 22 and returned with a small family some 17 years later. My time in London was spent in the Television and Digital Media Industry. But home is where the heart is and I wanted my children to grow up as I did; on the beach. And I wanted to find a way to be creative and give back to my community. I feel I've achieved both.
With Manderley originally the plan was to upcycle furniture but that was such a busy space at the time that I needed something that would bring footfall to the Facebook page.
So I came up with a painted 'Moment in Time' clock concept and the rest is history. The clock orders started coming in and I haven't looked back. The upcycling furniture is now what I do in my downtime to relax.
The clocks are Manderley's best seller and signature piece, and I have lots of other handmade gifts and keepsakes available. My Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest are worth following to see what I'm up to!
I've kept very true to the original design of the clocks since 2013; and many customers continue to add to their collections. Through them I watch families grow, see weddings and anniversaries celebrated, children christened, and precious family moments cherished with handmade loveliness.
