I started the business in 2017, with the premise of creating extra special fruit cakes. The business soon grew and I identified that further products would need to be added to our range to increase profitability and customer base. In 2018 we started our range of mini loaves, scones and traybake which have continued to grow from strength to strength.
We were overjoyed to win 2 gold stars in the 2019 great taste awards for our rich fruit cake. During the last 2 years we have worked closely with numerous corporate clients, charities and Welcome to Yorkshire, to increase brand awareness and customer base.
We opened our first, bricks and mortar store in September 2019, stocking cake accessories along side our bespoke creations. We now also dedicate a portion off our retail space to local producers, enabling them to have an high street presence without the overheads. 2020 is going to be an exciting year for The Candied Peel Cake co, so watch this space.
