I'm Sarah of Rusty and Boots. I make wall hangings, art and illustrations to provide colourful and nature inspired décor for homes. Everything I make is inspired by nature, animals and folklore.
I have a degree in Surface Pattern Design and my work has featured in five exhibitions, including the Fresh Perspective exhibition in the Trueman Brewery, Brick Lane in London and the New Designers Exhibition in Islington, London.
I love to make wall hangings with prints of my own photographs, hand embroidery and machine embroidery. I also create weavings, both square and round with varying textures of yarn and stitch. Knitting and crochet are two more of my loves and I'm working on making wall hangings involving them.
I'm also very fond of painting and am experimenting with abstract art at the moment. My paintings have veered towards the illustrative end of things recently, but whatever I paint, it's always something to do with the natural world, as my aim is to bring some of its beauty into your home.
